What’s happening with Conductor?
Conductor is joining Meta. New sign-ups and downloads stopped November 4, 2026. Conductor Cloud becomes read-only November 13 and shuts down November 20; export Cloud data before then.
Local Conductor continues working for now, with new models and critical fixes until early 2027. See the official announcement and export instructions.
What will feel familiar
Both are Mac apps for parallel coding agents: isolate work in Git worktrees, review diffs, and merge finished changes. Conductor already supports multiple agents, including Claude Code and Codex. See Conductor’s workflow documentation.
What ThreadRig brings
- Three CLIs together. Use Claude Code, Codex and Gemini in the same project, with a different engine for each thread.
- One workspace. Browser, editor, tasks and diff review sit beside your conversations.
- Your Mac or your server. Work locally, or configure your own server for remote execution.
- A free app. Bring your existing CLI accounts; provider usage remains yours.
What ThreadRig doesn’t do
ThreadRig does not provide hosted cloud sandboxes. Its own-server option requires a server you set up and manage. There is no Conductor chat or workspace importer: start from your repository, and keep any Conductor exports separately.
Switch in 5 minutes
With Git and a supported CLI already installed, setup is short. First-time CLI installation or sign-in may take longer.
Download ThreadRig
Open the DMG and drag ThreadRig into Applications.
Open your repository
Press ⌘N and choose your local project folder.
Sign in to your CLIs
Use each CLI’s own sign-in flow, then start a thread. Ask it to split independent work into parallel threads and review the changes before merging.
A few useful answers
What does ThreadRig cost?
The Mac app is free. AI subscriptions and API usage are paid through your own provider accounts; they are not included.
Where does my code go?
Your project runs on your Mac, or on your own server if you configure one. Your CLIs send prompts and relevant code to their AI providers under your accounts. See the privacy policy for ThreadRig’s storage and network requests.
Which CLIs can I use?
Claude Code, Codex CLI and Gemini CLI. Install and sign in to at least one; you can use different engines for different threads.
